Titan Fitness and Martial Arts continues to be the leader in the State College and the Centre region for MMA and Muay Thai development. TeamTitan, located in downtown State College(127 Sowers Street), has developed over a dozen competitve amateur MMA and Muay Thai fighters in the last four years. These dedicated athletes have combined for a 19-9-3 overall record against strong fighters from Philadelphia and Boston, and gyms from Deleware, New Jersey, Maryland, Ohio, Michigan, New York, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.

On Sunday, April 25, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and MMA Professional Fighter, Tim Carpenter paid Titan a visit and conducted a BJJ/MMA seminar. The seminar was well received by the students of both the Gi and No-Gi training sessions. We look forward to having Tim back again in the near future for another day of great instruction from one of the finest practitioners in this part of the United States.
At the seminar, Titan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu student, Alex Romanenko, was promoted to the rank of Blue Belt. Congratulations from all of us at Titan for this accomplishment.
Titan Fitness & Martial Arts is proud to announce the addition of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. BJJ classes will officially start Tuesday, March 16 and meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 8 pm to 9 pm and on Fridays from 5 pm to 6 pm. Gi and no Gi classes will be taught. We are excited to offer this new addition to our MMA programs.
The BJJ classes will be taught by Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belt, Bill Algeo. Bill started martial arts at 14 years of age. Bill wrestled throughout high school and eventually received an All-State title. Bill continued to coach wrestling and in 2007 found BJJ. He soon after received his blue belt from Phil Migliarese and in 2009 he earned his purple belt. He haswon many advanced divisions from NAGA, Grapplers Quest, US Grappling and various smaller tournaments. Bill has trained with some of the best MMA fighters Philadelphia has to offer and has taught BJJ for the last year and a half at MMA/BJJ schools. We are honored to welcome Mr. Algeo to our staff.

Titan Fitness & Martial Arts would like to congratulate Titan mixed martial arts student, Tom Seifried and his wife on the birth of their first child on December 25 at 4:45 pm. Their son and future Titan, Jameson Walter Seifried was born weighing 7 lbs. 4 oz. at a length of 20 inches. Tom reports that everyone is doing great despite the lack of sleep for the new parents. Congratulations to the Seifrieds on this blessed event.

Completing your free lesson now ensures your spot in our popular classes and gives you a free gym membership in December leading up to the start of your class in January.

Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW) Founder and Mixed Martial Arts Legend, Erik Paulson conducted a two day seminar at Titan Fitness & Martial Arts in State College on October 24 & 25. This marks the third consecutive year that Mr. Paulson visited Central Pennsylvania to teach his brand of mixed martial arts, arguably the most complete MMA system in existence. Students from Titan Fitness, Virginia, New York, and other schools in Pennsylvania attended the two-day seminar. Titan Fitness & Martial Arts will be hosting another Erik Paulson seminar November 13 & 14, 2010. Ryan Russo is an assistant youth Jeet Kune Do instructor. Ryan started taking boxing lessons during his sophomore year of high school. Upon his attendance at Penn State, Ryan began taking mixed martial arts classes at Titan Fitness & Martial Arts and has remained a Titan member for the past two years. Ryan worked with kids at the Child Development and Family Council of Centre County for a year as an assistant group supervisor. After graduating with a degree in Psychology at Penn State during the spring of 2009, he was hired at the Meadows Psychiatric Center as a mental health technician II on the children’s unit, a position he still has today.
