New Era in Youth Martial Arts Begins September 6

Youth Martial Arts classes resume Tuesday, September 6 at 6:30.  They will meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30.

We are pleased to announce the hire of our new youth martial arts instructor, Osahon Omo-Osagie (“Os”).  Os has been the boxing II instructor for Titan for the last year and now will bring his martial arts knowledge and infectious energy to our youth program.

Os has been an NCBA champion boxer at Lock Haven, collegiate coach at both Lock Haven and Penn State, competitive Thai boxer, MMA student (certified under Bruce Lombard, Titan MMA Director and Coach Level II in CSW), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu student, and now professional boxer.  Additionally, Os has been involved with the area youth in both before and after school counseling and developmental programs.  He is also the father to a five-year old son.

Fall 2011 Schedule & Pricing Special

As we approach the return of the Penn State students, we have posted our fall schedule on our website.  The schedule includes both a list of classes, as well as the schedule for free lessons.  Classes will be available in MMA (including submission wrestling and Thai boxing), Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Women’s Kickboxing (Thai boxing curriculum), Boxing, and youth martial arts.  See the included link for all the details.

Summer 2011 Free Lesson Schedule

Titan Fitness & Martial Arts offers free lessons as a way for new students to try out a class prior to making a commitment to taking the class.  The following is the free lesson schedule for the summer semester.

Mixed Martial Arts:  Mondays and Wednesdays  5:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu:  Mondays and Wednesdays  6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Boxing:  Mondays and Wednesdays  7:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Women’s Kickboxing:  Tuesdays  6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Free lessons start the week of May 16.  All free lessons are by appointment and can be scheduled by calling us at 814/235-1015 or by emailing us at info@titanfitness.com.

Spring 2011 Free Lesson Schedule

Titan is pleased to announce our free lesson schedule for the upcoming semester of classes.  These sessions are made available for prospective new students as a way to try out a class before making a commitment to the program.  We offer free lessons in all classes.  The following includes the class, day, times, and start dates of each program’s free lessons.

Mixed Martial Arts/Combat Submission Wrestling:  Monday and Wednesday 7 pm – 8 pm (Start date:  Wednesday, January 12)
Women’s Kickboxing:  Tuesdays 6 pm – 7 pm (Start date:  Tuesday, January 11)
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu:  Monday and Wednesday 6 pm – 7 pm (Start date:  Wednesday, January 12)
Boxing:  Monday and Wednesday 8 pm – 9 pm (Start date:  Wednesday, January 12)
Thai Boxing:  Wednesday 7 pm – 8 pm (Start date:  Wednesday, January 12)

Welcome Back Penn State Students!

Osahon Omo-Osagie

Osahon Omo-Osagie (“Os”) is the Boxing II instructor for Titan Fitness & Martial Arts.  In addition, Os will be taking over as the youth martial arts instructor in the Fall 2011.

Os has been involved with the sport of boxing for over ten years.  He boxed for four years in college at Lock Haven University.  In that time, he earned two All-American awards, three regional championship titles, a National Runner up title, and in his final year, he won the 2004 National Collegiate Boxing Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada. After that, he competed in the amateur ranks until deciding he was ready to turn pro.  In pursuit of his dream, he moved back to New York City to train at Johns Gym in the Bronx for two years where he worked with world class professional boxers.  Since then, Os has returned to State College where this past summer, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a professional boxer.

Os has been involved with martial arts for a large part of his life.  He presently is a certified student under Bruce Lombard in Combat Submission Wrestling, the MMA system created by pioneer, fighter, champion, and coach, Erik Paulson.  Os also studies Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Thai Boxing. He has competed and was victorious in his debut as a Thai boxer last fall.

As a coach, Os was hired as an assistant coach of the University of Lock Haven.   In his second year of coaching, Lock Haven won the team National Championship.  He later started coaching at a local fitness club he trained over 20 students.  He served as an assistant coach for the Penn State University Boxing Team for the last two years and will continue in that capacity in the coming season.

Along with his impressive martial arts/boxing participant and coaching resume, Os has been involved with the a before and after school child development and family counseling program in area elementary schools.  Previous to that, he ran his own boxing program for adults and at-risk youth in the Lock Haven, PA area for two years.  He is also a very active father to a five-year old son.

Penn State Boxers Excel at Nationals

Two Penn State boxers earned All-American status at the NCBA National Championships at West Point this past weekend.  Long-time Titan members, AJ Williams (165 lbs.) and Jay Petraitis (175 lbs.) both advanced to the semi-finals of their respective weight classes to become All-Americans.  We at Titan Fitness & Martial Arts would like to congratulate the fighters.  Additionally, kudos must go out to Penn State boxing coach and Titan Boxing instructor, Dave Vacco, in guiding his fighters to such an excellent season and result at Nationals that also included two other national qualifiers, Matt Roy and Justin Portal.
