Summer classes are being taught by BJJ practitioner and MMA fighter, Ben Grove. Ben is a blue belt and a former wrestler with 10 years of experience. Following a brief collegiate boxing career, he turned to MMA to fulfill his need for competition. After training in BJJ for two years and competing in five amateur MMA fights, Ben traveled to Brazil to train with some of the world’s finest BJJ greats in schools where some of the finest MMA and BJJ fighters have trained. Ben trained with over 40 black belts, including many world champions. On August 13, Ben will fight in his first professional MMA debut in Scranton, PA. We invite students to train and benefit from Ben’s considerable talent and newfound knowledge from his extensive training experience in the founding country of BJJ.
Existing students are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible. New Penn State students, especially incoming freshmen, are welcome to schedule a free lesson in BJJ. We are conveniently located at Lionheart Fitness in downtown State College walking distance from all dorms and downtown apartment complexes.
